The Light Weigh is a spiritual growth and weight loss program developed over
ten years ago by Suzanne Fowler.  I have been a coordinator for The Light
Weigh in my parish for two years.  Through this program I first learned
about the spirituality of St. Therese and discovered the lack of a sacrifice
focus in my life.

This is a link to several writings by Mother Angelica, the nun that started Eternal Word
Television Network (EWTN). One of my favorite in this series is #37,
Spiritual
Hangovers
. This article brought me to the realization that by holding on to anger and
resentment I was keeping myself from growing in my spiritual life, (and my physical life
as well in regards to my eating!). I have not come even close to reading all of the books
listed here, which are all free to download, so if you find another of her books especially
helpful please e-mail me!  If you don't know much about Mother I highly recommend
reading the  book about her life:
Mother Angelica, The Remarkable story of a nun, her
nerve, and a network of miracles
. I gained a tremendous sense of respect for the wisdom
God has bestowed upon her.

This is one of the best sites I have ever found regarding St. Therese's life.

This is one of the best examinations of conscience I have ever found.  It is through an
honest look at my life that I have been able to uncover the areas in which I struggle most.
Previously, I just knew that I had a bad temper, or that I was not very patient, or that
certain people made me really, really, crazy. Now, with the grace of confession, God has
gently shown me the areas I most need to grow in, and given me the grace to overcome
these areas of struggle.  Nothing can compare with the healing grace of the sacrament of
penance.
